The Lost and Present
Heraldry
of
St. Andrew's Church,
Newcastle upon Tyne.

St. Andrew's church in Newcastle is the oldest church in the city. Unfortunately the modernisers have devastated the inside of the church leaving only a few achievement still on show. The roll below has been taken from the book published by M.A. Richardson in 1818. A few arms have been added since the publication of this book but most have gone. I have photographed what is still available and publish the pictures below. If I have no photo I have done a rough sketch. These sketches are only roughs done using my computer mouse. They will be replaced with scanned paintings as they become available.

If you have an interest in Heraldry I have a roll of some 1200 blazons of arms, crests and some other relevant details associated with the counties of Northumberland and Newcastle upon Tyne. If you are looking for the odd bit of information e-mail me and I will do my best. {If you would like a copy of the data base a cheque for £10 would not go amiss.} my e-mail address is:
