The People's Theatre has mounted productions of Percy Bysshe Shelley's "The Cenci" twice. The first time was in 1935 when the People's Theatre had its theatre at Rye Hill. The second was staged in May 2001 at their Heaton theatre. This page, and its companions, aim to give a view of the Cenci at the People's theatre. It includes information about the 1935 and 2001 productions including the edited scripts used for these productions. If you wish to make use of these versions of Shelley's original you are most welcome to do so. However, it would be nice to know that you are using it and an acknowledgement would be nice. | ![]() Felicity Clausen-Sternwald as Beatrice Cenci 2001, |
